LASG to demolish structures along Ijegun pipeline- Sanwo-Olu

Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced plans by the Lagos State government to demolish illegal structure erected along Ijegun pipeline area of the state.

He disclosed this at a meeting attended by security chiefs in the state.

While briefing newsmen after the monthly security meeting held at the State House, Alausa, Ikeja, he revealed that security reports showed that the illegal structures in Ijegun are obstructing people and security agencies from detecting the operations of vandals destroying Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Pipelines.

“During security meeting, we discussed issues on pipeline vandalism that claimed many lives and destroyed many properties in Ijegun. We have agreed among ourselves to commence demolition of the structures,” he said.

“Lagos state government is coming to remove all illegal structures and facilities along pipeline, owners of these structures and facilities should start removing them before we come, we already have a mapped out layout of the environs where demolition will be taking place, we will be collaborating with NSCDC and NNPC to achieve the desired result.
