Monaco put Fabregas up for sale

AS Monaco are already seeking a buyer for midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

The Spain international left Chelsea for Monaco only in January, but France Football says management are now seeking a buyer.

Cesc’s €125,000-a-week contract is a drag on ASM’s wage-bill as they seek to rebuild after a disastrous 12 months.

As such, the former Arsenal captain’s availability has been circulated across Europe – but his salary is proving a stumbling block.

A move outside of Europe – to China or the Middle East – is now being mooted for the midfielder.

Tied to ASM until 2022, Cesc also arrived with a €600,000 signing-on bonus.
