VIDEO: Osinbajo teaches internally displaced kids ‘prophetic’ song

Nigerians have reacted to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s activities at the Internally Displaced Persons’ camp at Abagena in Benue State.

Osinbajo had engaged in a sing-along with internally displaced children living in the camp during an official visit to the beleaguered state.

Benue had experienced several attacks by persons suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, leading to the killing of hundreds of people, with thousands currently displaced from their ancestral lands.

In frustration, Governor Samuel Ortom had instructed the IDPs to return home and confront their attackers with stoning.

The IDPs have remained in the camps.

When Osinbajo visited the Abagena camp on Tuesday, he gave the children a new song.

As reported in his verified Twitter handle, Osinbajo’s Senior Special Assistant-Media and Publicity Mr. Laolu Akande, quoted the VP as telling the displaced children and everyone living in the camp that, “going forward, they shall be winners.”

The VP then went ahead to teach them a motivational song titled, “Winner Oh, Oh,” which Mr. Akande described as “compelling and prophetic.”

As stated by Mr. Akande, Abagena IDP camp alone hosts “more than 34,000” refugees who had fled from the herdsmen onslaught.

As reported by SUN News online, as of March 19, 2018, health workers had confirmed 120 births and 15 deaths in the eight IDP camps in Benue State since the Fulani herdsmen invasion of the state in January.
